The Sad Tale of an African Child

While catching up with the latest gist on nairaland website, the thoughts of the Channel Five news caught ruminate in my brain. Richard and Gloria taylor, the parent of the very popular Damilola Taylor have maintained their dignity and composure througout the six-year investigation on the murder of their child. For the second tme, the jury in a UK court of law could not reach a verdict on two teeneage brothers charged with the killing, even though there was blood stains on the sweaters of this kids which linked them to the murder.

I personally have been to peckham( the Nigerian surbhub in London) numerous times and know what the atmosphere is like. i wouldnt doubt the fact that this young boy was murdered in cold blood, and everyone arrested in connection with the murder knows one thing or two but failed to give up evidence or testify against the culprit. I mean how on earth could the defence counsel argued that the child fell on a broken bottle. the juroprs on monday, cleared the third defendant( hassan Jihad) of any involvement in the death.

I sincerely think that if the british legal system will be so kind, they should let this boy's soul rest in peace by closing the case instead of their failure in reaching a verdict and stop grieving the heart of the parents again and again.

Shioooooooo..to the UK legal system, shiooooo.......... i mean even when the person who murdered him is found, he will be sentenced to maybe 2 years imprisonment with a 1 year parole. Thats is the state of the UK legal system.

God have mercy............

1 - What kind of world are we living in. If Justice can be denied in the U.K., then what's the hope of us here in Nigeria where Ghana Must Go must change hand in order to quash justice. Na wah o!. (Comment this)
