Festival of Life

I sat comfortably on the comfy chair behind the PC at easy internet cafe. I dont doubt the fact that we do have very cosy cafes like this in Nigeria, especially in lagos, but the fact that everything is all automated is another issue. I paid for my ticket at the ticket machine and loggged onto the internet. My aim, to book a train ticket for my trip to london for the RCCG festival of Life at the excel centre in london.

Having sneaked out of work today, i look forward to a refreshing presence of God and an atmosphere filled with love. if you do attend the even, please email me so we can share experiences.

I will be missing my baby for 31/2 days, she is travelling to Dublin. Honey..........wish you safe Journey. Remember, buy me guguru and epa as well as bread agege oooo........( did u ask me where to get it?.........African shops of course!)

Mixed Feelings-Omo Naija

While the thoughts of the impossiblity of viewing the eclipse because of the thick cloudy weather jostle my mind, i was put into another shock by the fire alarm that suddenly went off at my work place. As i was on a call booking a candidate on a touch screen test, i had to put down my headphones and rush out of the building. I was on the 5th floor.

I could see chaos, everybody running around trying to get out of the building through the emergency exit. During my induction i remember been told not to  try to take any of my belongings in case of any fire alarm outbreak. But trust Omo Naija now.............. how on earth will i leave my stuffs. I dashed back to my table grabbed my Mobile phone as well as my bag and rushed down the stairs. i was practically one of the few people left on the building. i got downstairs panting heavily. about 800 staffs working on the building in different companies are already outside. Couple of fire attendants was also outside with their Green UV-vest.

After resting and trying to catch my breath we were all told to go back into the building stating from the megaphone that it was only a fire alarm drill.

Trust Omo Naija again.................i hissed and said ''what is the point''..............''rubbish'' i exclaimed.

Me and My Computer

I sincerely did'nt realise how useful my old machine is, until the AC adaptor malfunctioned two days ago.i was on the verge of doing my Open University assignment. Having learnt a lot on Nairaland, a a Nigerian online forum, i have crammed the latptop( a spec of P3, 900mhz, 128mbRAM, 11BG hard drive) with softwares like macromedia dreamweaver, Java SDK, Borland C++, Adobe premier and pagemaker. although i am tinkering with all this at the moment.

I feel so frustrated, i cant even get on Nairaland, skannet.com, yahoomail, and most of all, my blog. Also websites i am developing has had to go on hold for the main time.

IT has improved lifes in the 21st century with more people getting online and depending on it capabilities. However, it is important to note that they can malfunction like mine did. And which lead me to maintaing my laptop. Checking all its physical parts and making sure that its not put under too much stress. My AC adaptor got spoilt because of negligence.

Solution: i will branch at the Computer shop at manchester piccadilly to get a replacement adaptor.

Chiwetel Ejiofor stars in

Getting on the Eccles tram( yes i mean tram) from manchester piccadilly this morning about 30 minutes ago, i relaxed in a corner seat on the first carriage. Minutes before jumping on, i had collected my free copy of the commutters newspaper 'the metro' from a vendor at the tram station. flipping through the pages, the picture of Denzel washington captivated me.

From his role in ''the training days'' to ''malcom x'' as well as ''cry freedom' has propelled him into one of my list of top shooters in the movie industry. Chiwetel Ejiofor, a british with Nigerian parentage starred with Denzel in the acclamed movie titled ''inside Man''. I got into the office and quickly for a brief moment searched more about the movie. isnt it good that Africans of Nigerian descent are been propelled into hollywood?, with the likes of sophie okonendo(hotel rwanda) and chiwetel ejiofor, the sky will not be the limit but a starting point for aspiring Africans both at home and in the diaspora to be successful in the movie industry. For more information please click Chiwetel Ejiofor

Happy birthday B!

I wonder why i have dedicated a whole post to her, but as far as i am concerned, she deserves it better. Yesterday was mines B'day and i was so filled with joyous moments that i couldnt blog about it yesterday and i had to wait to do it today. I feel a sense of relieve now that she is in her early twenties, at least it means more freedom, more liberty.

My question goes to her, ''how does it feel to be 21?''

B, a lady with the personality of virtue is someone who God has blessed with a lot of intelligence. I have always appreciated her and wish we know more of each other than we already do.

Long live and prosperity, wish you many more years of celebration. Dont worry, next year, i will buy you a convertible cardillac.

Dont ask me how though.
