Imagine that

Everybody move your body now, forget about the blue day....day day, everybody move our body now, tomorow is a blue day...... imagine that afi fba to se dan dan pe oun lo imagine that..

ki lo fe ko sele si mi to ba lo.imagine that.imagine that.imagine that...................................... I feel so elated at getting the new styl-plus hit track that i just couldnt stop playing it on my MP3.it immediately dominated the other reining tracks on my player that it is now the rave of the moment. Do i love styl-plus?.......sure i do, from their first hit solo tagged 'olufunmi' and 'call my name'. i sincerely love their song to bits based on their genuinety as well as original composition  as well as good management. while i understand that most of their song is synchronised using vocoder, i still believe in their concept of mixture of yoruba and English as well as the context of the lyrics the song possess. While i have not blogged in so many weeks, i consider the 'imagine that' track 'rejuvenate me and whip up my flagging energies' (like Wole soyinka's quote) to blogging again.

Go on styl-plus....you are tha bomb

Easter!

The most frustrating experience on good friday was getting my internet connection to work. it certainly did not. unknowlingy to me, the telephne line that connect to the internet has been cut off because i did not pay my bills. in frustration, i resorted to my 21 inches TV box.

I wonder in awe, so many programmes i miss on the BenTV, PassionTV and OBE TV. Those stations showcase best of Africa. One thing that amazes me is the AUMG live and LaffnJamz easter bash which brought artist like styl-plus, faze, ruggedman, basketmouth, omo-baba, daddyshowkey, jazzman olofin, p-square e.t.c to london and most artist that i have never seen on live TV came on to show their talents. Shifi seems much more cool, and i am beggining to hate the dreadlock on zeals head. makes him look like another rastaman.

Tunde is alway forever cool. they sang an acapella in the studio and it shows how much great voice this guys have. Faze seems to have a better voice than Tuface( i witnessed his singing live without instruments) and jazzman olofin seems a bit unrelaxed. That was his first trip to london and he is still not confident enough( i dont blame him), all thesame he was da bomb. trust daddyshowkey to be the greatest ajegunle warrior on set. with all his broken English. Basket mouth was also there to thrill us for 2 hrs on the show. I wonder why i did not get to know about the AUMG live jamz in time, i would have boought my 15 pounds ticket and go to london for the celebration.

This all makes me so proud of Nigeria. Ruggedman( my main man) was da bomb. he showed the real Nigerian taste in him.

For once i reflected back on that easter weekend and discovered i didnt do too bad. Thank God my Internet connection went off.

NaijaBrains rock!

While i have not been able to update my blog because of my busy schedule. For some crazy moments........i thought in my wildest dreams how the website will look like when its finished properly. Layi and i have partnered into bringing a new Nigerian forum on the internet. The portal which includes other things like wikis, photo profiles, News and articles is still in its beta stage. I for once will say a big kudo's to layi, he did more of the technical bits....as i had to put in more encouragement. "This is my dream come true" i said to him while on yahoo chat application and he was full of smiles.

With the site due to be launched fully on thursday(Hopefully) we look forward to lots of members on its first two weeks of inception.

For those who would like to visit it is www.naijabrains.com please do take your time to go the site and pass your comments. (we want that as its still in its beta stage)

I have no doubt in me that Naija Brains will be a more relaxing atmosphere for Nigerians and friends of Nigeria to express their mind without heavy censorship.

The Sad Tale of an African Child

While catching up with the latest gist on nairaland website, the thoughts of the Channel Five news caught ruminate in my brain. Richard and Gloria taylor, the parent of the very popular Damilola Taylor have maintained their dignity and composure througout the six-year investigation on the murder of their child. For the second tme, the jury in a UK court of law could not reach a verdict on two teeneage brothers charged with the killing, even though there was blood stains on the sweaters of this kids which linked them to the murder.

I personally have been to peckham( the Nigerian surbhub in London) numerous times and know what the atmosphere is like. i wouldnt doubt the fact that this young boy was murdered in cold blood, and everyone arrested in connection with the murder knows one thing or two but failed to give up evidence or testify against the culprit. I mean how on earth could the defence counsel argued that the child fell on a broken bottle. the juroprs on monday, cleared the third defendant( hassan Jihad) of any involvement in the death.

I sincerely think that if the british legal system will be so kind, they should let this boy's soul rest in peace by closing the case instead of their failure in reaching a verdict and stop grieving the heart of the parents again and again.

Shioooooooo..to the UK legal system, shiooooo.......... i mean even when the person who murdered him is found, he will be sentenced to maybe 2 years imprisonment with a 1 year parole. Thats is the state of the UK legal system.

God have mercy............
